Join us for another build day at Wild Haven Farm. We have two projects to work on: Suscovich Chicken Tractors and Goat Feeders.
We'll provide all of the materials and plans.
Join us on Saturday 29 April and help us reforest the farm. We have committed to rebuilding some of the woodland on our property. We will be planting maples and other native species this year. Last year we planted over 200 trees including basswood and pine. The trees need to get into the ground soon after we pick them up on the 28th. We'll provide the tools including a dibble. Wait, you don't know what a dibble is? Come find out!
Come join us for a hands-on chain saw workshop. We will be learning about chain saw maintenance and have lots of practice on a variety of standing and downed trees. We will also have an Alaskan Saw Mill set up and be making oak boards. Bring your own saw(s) or ask in advance if you need to borrow a saw for the day. This workshop will be taught by Nate. Nate taught survival with the Air Force in Alaska and is currently a sawyer on Team Rubicon. A variety of saws will be available to try but participants are encouraged to bring your own to take advantage of the maintenance part of the workshop.
It's that time of year. Time to bring in the harvest. We have had over 120 barred rock and dark Cornish broilers in the Suscovich tractors all Summer. On the 29th and 30th of July we will begin processing. Those of you who have ordered can pick up at the end of either day.

This will be our penultimate processing day this season. We have about 40 birds (Dark Cornish and Barred Rocks) to process in August. Community processing will be at the end of the day. Those who want to be part of the processing now is the time to let us know. We hope to make it a little bit of a family/community day so please feel welcome and not obligated to work all day... but we would love the help! ;)
